Journalism have many definitions, but to me journalism itself is the action of informing the public about matters they may or may not know about. A journalist is somebody who can take a piece of information without adding, replacing, reversing, or changing anything, and be able to express it to the world around them. They gather information in writing and the company puts it out there for the people to read or hear. The companies may be news stations, newspapers, magazines, radio stations, etc. There are many different ways companies can get the news out there.
Journalists shouldn't be classified by a “Title” or “Degree”, as situations and topics for journalism are never the same and always differ. To measure a person’s ability to react to a topic from the past leaves no room for investigations, interviews, and other hands on research that is essential to journalism; ultimately resulting in the need for a “Journalism Degree” as pointless. A journalist should be classified by his work, by the time and effort he puts into getting out the truth to the people.
I believe one of the requirements a journalist should have is imagination because the reader need to be drawn in, in what they read feel it, as if they were in the journalism shoes. Another characteristic would be grammar and spelling a good writer needs to know how to work the words and the writing in an interesting form that any level of readers can understand. ‘‘And one of the most important characteristic is to get some real experience writing news - not working as a cashier at the Gap. A good internship will help you understand the field that you want to apply. When you can apply for the job after graduation with a college degree and some tear sheets to show the editor, that's when you have the good shot at a job.’’ [1]
One of the modern journalism would be New York Times is one of the most popular journalism even if you don’t live in New York you will still hear about it, even on the Internet. Another modern journalism would be FOX News Channel 35 is a news channel and is really popular among America. They qualify among my standards because they both meet the grammars standards and knowledge they need to know and the imagination is one of the most they stand out in New York times the writers are amazing, I've read many article with them and I do say they are wonderful.[1] Yahoo Answers, 2008, http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081018091507AABBjUJ
