Getting an Education

To start off my career path on photojournalism, I will either attend Academy of Art University that is in San Francisco, CA or Ringling Collage of Art and Design that is in Sarasota, FL (for their photography programs) or Princeton (for their writing & journalism programs) just in case I need to write the story to the photos I take. My first milestone will be to successfully sell my photos for stories in the

  • How do I get there from here?
    • Right now I want to keep up my grades and maintain my GPA to at least a 4.0 or higher. So, I hope I’m able to get into one of the collages I want to get into.
  • What education do I need to reach this milestone?
    • I would need to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography as well as in Writing/Journalism.
  • What education do I need to succeed in this career?
    • I need to get my Master’s Degree in Photography and Writing/Journalism but to get my Bachelor is the first step to take.
  • What steps can I take now to begin preparing my future?
    • I need to keep my milestone in mind and continue to get good grades until I am out of high school and onto collage. All while maintaining my GPA on 4.0 or over.
  • How long might this take me?
    • I know where I am now; it’s going to take a few years to get to where I want to be. But before I could get anywhere I am going to need some internship experience for well… experience.
Looking at my life plan, I feel my goals are very reasonable. Far to reach for but reasonable.  I can definitely get into a good college and study the different types of photography, and I believe I can successfully get a job with selling my photos in due time, it won’t be smoothing sailing at all. Having a career plan written out is a good idea for me, I like knowing exactly what my goal is and knowing how I can reach it. People with career plans like to know that they have control over their future and can decide on what happens next in their milestone.
